Sauk Valley Community College, a comprehensive community college located in a picturesque rural setting in northwestern Illinois, invites applications from innovative individuals for a full-time faculty opening. Located along the scenic Rock River, between the cities of Dixon and Sterling; the College is one hour from Rockford and the Quad Cities and two hours west of Chicago.
The Nursing faculty member will teach courses in pediatric and medical/surgical nursing. The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
This is a tenure track, nine month position that is available fall semester, 2008. Salary is based on education and experience and may be augmented by summer teaching and overload opportunities. The College offers a liberal fringe benefits package and does not deduct FICA from paychecks. Responsibilities: Teaching assignment includes lectures, campus lab, and clinical instruction.
Qualifications: Current license as an Illinois Registered Nurse (or eligibility for licensure) and a Master's degree in Nursing is required. Also required is at least two years experience in clinical nursing practice. Teaching experience is preferred. Review of resumes will begin immediately and position will remain open until filled.
