Sauk Valley Community College seeks an innovative individual for a full-time tenure track
faculty opening for the SVCC Wind Energy Program. Located in rural
northwestern Illinois, along
the
scenic Rock River, between the cities of Dixon and Sterling; the
College is one hour from Rockford and the Quad Cities and two hours
west of Chicago.
Responsibilities:
The Wind Energy Instructor will review curriculum, teach classes, acquire equipment, work with co-hort Community Colleges, and be involved with the IL Community College Sustainability network. Ability to teach other technical related fields such as electricity, industrial, or other subjects is required.
The successful candidate will be cognizant of the philosophy and objectives of the College and use them as guidelines in planning, structuring, and teaching courses. As a tenure track, nine-month position, the faculty member will be eligible for a liberal fringe benefits package.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in relevant field and a minimum of 1 year of industrial experience required. Community College teaching experience preferred. Experience with blue print reading, hydraulics, electrical semantics, high voltage, electric safety, and OHSA required.
