Writing Assignment One

After viewing the larger versions of the three paintings in the "Perspective" article, write up a description of where you think the vanishing points are. They should be pretty easy to find. The hard part will be in describing where they are. This will help you to begin to be as precise as possible when writing about the Arts.

Then go to the WebMuseum and move on to their list of artists. Choose two more paintings (some will clearly be better suited to this assignment than others) and make the second part of your paper a discussion of where you think the vanishing points are in these paintings. Be sure to include the address for each painting. (The first part of the address will be ---sunsite.unc.edu--- followed by extensions that identify the artist and painting.
