Writing Assignment Two

After reading the lecture material, choose two paintings (from the WebMuseum ) that come from two different eras other than the Renaissance or the Baroque. They do not need to be eras which follow one another such as Classical and Romantic. That is, you may compare a Modern era painting with one from the Middle Ages, for example. Next, decide which of the four qualities (linearly/ painterly, etc.) from Wolflin's method apply to each one. Describe what it is about each painting that made you decide which quality to assign to it.

As with the first assignment, be sure to include the address for each painting. (The first part of the address will be ---sunsite.unc.edu--- followed by extensions that identify the artist and painting.
