Work and Employment

Word processor operators use word processing equipment to record, edit, store, and revise correspondence, reports, statistical tables, forms, and other materials. They read instructions to determine how material is to be prepared or revised and the required format for the finished copy. Word processors adjust controls for spacing, margins, and tabulation and then type the item as requested. They check the completed document on the screen for spelling errors and edit the item for grammar, punctuation, and format. They correct errors and store the completed document in machine memory. They then print out the item.
