Performing
Ensembles
The
SVCC Music Department has several performing ensembles. Most, though not
all, are open to non-music majors and the community at-large.
SVCC
Concert Choir
M F; 12-1:30; 1M22
SVCC Concert Choir is open to all Sauk students and members of the community.
The Choir performs twice during the Fall semester and once during the
Spring semester. Repetoire includes the standards of choral literature,
music from other cultures, and the best of the new choral music.
SVCC Collegiate Singers
M W F; 11-12:00: 1M22
During the Fall
semester, the ensemble becomes a "lab" and allows the music
students an opportunity to rehearse and conduct music of their own choosing.
During
the Spring semester, the Singers are responsible for putting on
the annual USO Show. Permission of instructor is required. SVCC
Concert Band

Concert Band is open to all Sauk students and members of the community.
The Band performs once during the Fall semester and twice during the Spring
semester. Repetoire includes standard band literature.

New Music Ensemble

New Music Ensemble is open to all Sauk music majors and Sauk studets who can read at an intermediate level.
The group performs at Sauk twice during the Fall semester and once during
the Spring semester. Repetoire includes contemporary instrumental literature
as well as pieces written especially for the group by faculty and students.

Guitar Ensemble

SVCC
Guitar Ensemble is open to Sauk music majors who can demonstrate an ability
to read music on the guitar at an intermediate level. The Guitar Ensemble
performs twice during the Fall semester and twice during the Spring semester.
Repetoire includes standard guitar ensemble literature, student compositions,
and material specifically commisioned for the group..
