Our
energized laboratory is used for Rad 194 and Rad 195 courses
required for first-year students in our program.
Students in
this class take actual exposures on phantom body parts.
Manipulations in exposure techniques, positioning, and
variation in the position of our equipment are performed to
demonstrate the effects that are made on the finished
radiograph. The resulting images are discussed and
experiment worksheets are completed by the student after
analyzing each image.
We have
recently upgraded our equipment and computed radiography is
now another component that is added to several experiments.
We combine both film/screen exposures and computed
radiography so that students will have the opportunity to
learn both methods.
Our
computed radiography equipment includes GE Centricity single
reader system, viewing monitor, high resolution and standard
resolution image receptors, and two workstations--each with
double monitors. Students are able to expose the CR imaging
plate, digitize the image, and then manipulate the images on
the workstations. |
