Mr. Ernie Etter, Associate Professor of Mathematics, graduated from Spoon River College with an Associate of Science degree. He later attended Western Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/ Education and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics. Prior to joining the SVCC faculty, Mr. Etter taught mathematics at several high schools in the Jacksonville, Illinois area. Since his arrival at SVCC in 1988, he has taught a variety of courses including Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Calculus for Business and Social Sciences. His wife, Beth, owns and operates a desktop publishing business and volunteers for Lee/Carroll County CASA as an office assistant. At Sauk, Mr. Etter has served on several college committees including the Student Services committee, the Instructional Technology committee, and the Instructional Affairs Committee. He enjoys bowling and yard work. He also likes to watch science fiction and horror programs on television, especially Star Trek.
