SVCC Math Club |
Sauk Valley Community College students, faculty, and staff members with an interest in mathematics are encouraged to join the SVCC Math Club, an organization which has sponsored numerous math/science related field trips, math contests, and other activities designed to enhance the mathematical understanding of its members. All SVCC student members must be currently (or previously) enrolled in at least one SVCC mathematics course. The club has the following purposes: 1. To deepen member’s awareness, understanding, and appreciation for mathematics, its connections to other disciplines, and its many applications; 2. others 4. To accomplish the above goals in ways that are fun, interesting,
challenging, and Mu Alpha Theta Sauk Valley Community College students who have completed a SVCC mathematics
course numbered MAT 122 or higher, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in all
college-level mathematics courses, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or
higher are eligible for membership in Mu
Alpha Theta, a national math
club for high school and community college students. The goal of Mu Alpha
Theta is to engender a keener interest in mathematics, develop sound
