Dan Wells graduated from SVCC in 1970 with and Associate of Science Degree. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northern Illinois University in 1972, a Master of Arts in Mathematics from Indiana University in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1977. From 1977 to 1979 he was an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. In 1979, he returned to school to study Computer Science at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1982. From 1982 to 1997 he worked as a software engineer. He taught Computer Science part time in 1996 and 1997 at Parkland College. From 1997 to 2004 Dan was a Research Programmer in the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois. He retired in 2004 and moved to Sterling in 2005. Currently Dan teaches Intermediate Algebra at SVCC.
