Great START Wage Supplement Program
Great START provides a wage supplement for child care personnel working in DCFS licensed centers or homes. Wage supplements are paid to an individual on a 6-month schedule. There are eligibility standards that an applicant has to meet in order to qualify for the program. The wage supplement scale is based on the level of education the applicant has.
The program was designed to help child care agencies to maintain employees. It also, inspires employees to further their education which increases quality and consistent care for the children without raising parent fees.
