Head Coach Russ Damhoff
Head coach Russ Damhoff begins his 27th season as coach of the Skyhawk’s. Last season the Skyhawk’s finished with the 8th best record in Sauk’s forty-five year history at 22-8. “Last year’s team could win any game they played as shown by their four wins vs. Kennedy King and Highland, the two Region IV championship game teams. Our weakness was depth and inconstant shooting which were factors in each of the championship opportunities.” “This year with the new Region IV championship format, depth will be even a bigger factor. I’m hopeful we have taken care of that.” “With each of the 27 seasons, you start the year with the same goals and dreams and you work hard to make it a “special season”, helping athletes reach their potential and dreams. Last season was one of the very good ones and hopefully this season can be even better for this group of talented young men and our fans!
As graduate of Prophetstown High School, Damhoff earned both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Physical Education (1982) from Northern Illinois University. He and his wife, Jackie, reside in the Dixon area. Both enjoy the outdoors where you will find them cycling, rollerblading (Jackie only), or pontooning on the Rock River.
