Purpose:
To save lives and reduce illness from poisoning from the quick action of calling the emergency number.
Remarks:
Call right away if an individual is suspected to have been poisoned. The representatives also provide immediate life-saving information about suicide attempts, medication errors, chemical spills, occupational exposures, drug interactions, and pet poisoning. The 24-hour telephone guidance for poisoning emergencies is provided free of charge. The service is backed by board-certified physician toxologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other poison specialists. The specialists follow each case, which involve frequent call-backs, until all signs and symptoms have been resolved and leaving the patients and family reassured.
