Criminal Justice Faculty - Tenure Track

Faculty - Full-time

Sauk Valley Community College invites applications from innovative individuals for a Criminal Justice faculty opening. This is a tenure track, nine-month position that is available fall semester 2013. Salary is based on education and experience and may be augmented by summer teaching and overload opportunities. The College offers a liberal fringe benefits package and does not deduct FICA from paychecks.

Responsibilities:

The Criminal Justice faculty member will teach courses in criminal justice, law enforcement, and justice affairs on campus, off campus, via videoconferencing and the internet. This position will also provide administrative support, program development, and develop courses for the programs as well as provide support for the criminal justice students. The faculty position assumes the role of faculty advisor to the criminal justice club.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited institution with 15 graduate hours in the field of criminal justice. Successful candidate also will have served a minimum of four years in law enforcement as a police officer.

Preference will be given to individuals who have community college teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, have experience with assessment of student learning outcomes, and have familiarity or experience with internet instruction.
