Director Anna K. Kurtz

Anna K. KurtzAnna K. Kurtz holds an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University where she has served as an adjunct faculty member. She has studied theatre in Oxford, England and earned a BFA in Theatre Performance from Creighton University. Originally from Sterling, IL, she has a deep connection to the Sauk Valley area.

Directing credits include Henry V, "Apartment 3A," "Hello Out There," and "Sad and Glad" at the Shafer Street Playhouse, "Dead Man's Cell Phone" (Assistant Director) at the Hodges Theatre, and  "Polaroid Stories" at Creighton University. She has worked with the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, Richmond Shakespeare Festival, the Post Playhouse, and several theaters in Chicago, IL including the 16th Street Theatre where she played Tammy in the premiere of The Ascension of Carlotta. Favorite roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Roxie Hart in Chicago, and Yvonne Chandel in "A Flea in Her Ear."
