Sauk Valley Community College will offer two FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Workshops. There is no charge to attend and students and/or their parents are urged to attend.
The first workshop will be an evening session from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, Room 2C3B. This workshop will be sponsored by College Awareness &Preparation (CAP) and will include a drawing for a $100 gift card.
There will also be a daytime workshop from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, in Room 2F3.
Staff from Sauk’s Office of Student Financial Assistance will explain the FAFSA form, how to file the FAFSA online, and more. Students must bring their U.S. Department of Education PIN number, 2008 federal taxes and 2008 W-2s for student, 2008 Federal Taxes and 2008 W-2s for parents (if student is a dependent), and a valid driver's license.
Students are urged to fill out the FAFSA form as soon as possible. Students may be eligible for more than $5,000 in free federal and state aid annually.
