Sauk Valley Community College will offer a one-evening “Silk Pumpkin/Gourd Swag” workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, at Swartley’s Floral & Greenhouse, 1706 E Fifth, in Sterling.

Participants will learn to create a beautiful fall door swag featuring a permanent pumpkin, gourds, and silk fall foliage. Swags may be accented with a beautiful autumn ribbon.

Participants will need to bring scissors and wire cutters to class. Cost for the workshop is $45. To register, stop by Sauk’s Office of Admissions and Records, Room 1J1, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays or between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays.
