Counseling: Academic Planning Worksheets

Before you may begin your Academic Planning Worksheet, please pick the SVCC Catalog you're using!

SVCC CATALOG FOR GRADUATION - Please READ BEFORE YOU PICK

SVCC publishes a new catalog every 2 years. Students can always choose to graduate out of the current catalog or, effective 2002-2004 catalog, they may fulfill degree/certificate requirements in effect at the time of their first enrollment or any subsequent valid catalog provided that:

  1. They complete the requirements within SIX YEARS from the date of initial enrollment. If students have not fulfilled the requirements within a six-year period, they are subject to the requirements in effect at the time of graduation. If students are unable to complete their requirements within six years, an appeal to use a different catalog may be made to the appropriate dean.
  2. They maintain consecutive enrollment (no "breaks" in enrollment longer than 2 or more years). When an enrollment break occurs, students are subject to the degree requirements in the catalog in effect at the time of re-enrollment.

Exceptions to above catalog for graduation rule -- Students may be required to follow degree requirements outlined in later catalogs when certificates, degree programs, or courses have been extensively modified from previous catalogs (see page 69 - Catalog for Graduation in the 2002-2004 SVCC catalog for more information).

If you are following a prior catalog (i.e. 2000-2002), refer to the "Catalog for Graduation" section of that catalog to review the catalog requirements/options.

If you can choose from more than one catalog, selecting one (for this Academic Planning Worksheet) DOES NOT lock you into using it for graduation. Consult a counselor for further information.
