The following figures reflect survey data that determines your cost of attending SVCC for the 2011-2012 academic year. This Cost of Attendance is based on survey results demonstrating that most students incur the same direct educational costs annually. Your indirect educational costs are based on your own circumstances, and can vary from student to student. Depending on your situation and major, your direct educational costs may be higher or lower than those presented below. All budgets are based on 32 weeks / 9 months using information returned on the budget survey and verified by additional documentation in some instances.

Indirect Costs

Rationale

  • Tuition and Fees ($3,243.00):
    Based on tuition of $99.00 per hour multiplied by 16 hours per semester, and an additional $75.00 lab fees.
  • Housing / Rent Costs ($6,228.00):
    Based on average monthly apartment rental and utilities cost of $692 per the Spring 2010 survey.
  • Books and Supplies ($1,369.00):
    Based on the Spring 2010 survey. Average price for books $1,237.00 and $132.00 in supply costs.
  • Transportation ($1,760.00):
    Provides for $50 in gas per week, and an additional $160 per award year for incidental costs associated with driving.
  • Miscellaneous Expenses ($1,575.00):
    Allows for $175.00 in incidental costs per month for household.

Summer Cost of Attendance

Summer COA is either 4 or 8 weeks in length, and can be determined by dividing the 32 week COA by the appropriate number of weeks.

  • Tuition and Fees ($8,160.00):
    Based on tuition of $255.00 per hour multiplied by 16 hours per semester.

Out of State

  • Tuition and Fees ($9,248.00):
    Based on tuition of $289.00 per hour multiplied by 16 hours per semester.
