Financial Aid Policies & Regulations
- Refund and Repayment Policy (Return of Title IV Funds Policy)
- An SVCC student who stops attending or withdraws completely from classes within a semester may receive a percentage of their Title IV financial aid.
- Satisfactory Academic Progress
- SAP ensure that all students meet the federal, state, and local financial aid / veterans benefits’ program requirements for eligibility.
- Higher Education Opportunities Act
- A federal or state drug conviction can disqualify a student for Federal Student Assistance (FSA) funds.
- Citizenship Policy
- A student must meet federal citizenship guidelines in order to be eligible for aid.
- Repeated Coursework Policy
- Financial Aid will consider and pay for classes you are retaking and have received a grade of 'D' or higher only 1 time. Please see policy for exceptions.
- Verification Policies and Procedures
- A student chosen for verification, whether by the Department of Education or by the Office of Financial Assistance, must provide all requested documentation.
- Fraud Policy
- The Office of Financial Asssistance will report any cases of suspected fraud.
- High School Diploma Policy
- Diplomas deemed to be received from diploma mills will not meet the requirements for financial assistance.
