Loan Counseling Requirements

Direct Stafford Loan Counseling is required by Federal Law for all first time Direct Stafford Loan borrowers.  If you are processing your first loan at SVCC you must contact the Office of Financial Assistance to schedule an appointment to complete Direct Stafford Loan Counseling. Your request for a Direct Stafford Loan will be processed once your Direct Stafford Loan Counseling requirement has been met.

Entrance Loan Counseling is a one time requirement.  Once completed at SVCC it will not be required for future Direct Stafford Loans.
