Writing Assignment Six
The websites for the Chicago World's Fair, also known as the Columbian Exposition, tell a story about an event in our country's history which played a large roll in shaping our modern attitudes and activities. After exploring two or three of these sites, reflect in writing upon the connections you notice between the many "new" (for then) ideas, events, and objects which were displayed at the Exposition and ideas, events, or objects we take for granted today. For example, the concept of the carnival and circus midway came from the Midway Plaisance of the Fair. Comment on how these ideas, etc., may have stayed the same or how you think they may have changed over the last 104 years.
This piece of writing must be formal--that is, whole sentences, grammatically correct, and punctuated correctly. For more instructions on formal writing, check back to the Syllabus page
