Academic Programs

Associate in Arts (603)

This program prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions to pursue a bachelor's degree in Spanish, French or German. Students who have already chosen the university to which they plan to transfer should consult that institution's catalog or department advisor and an SVCC counselor or academic advisor in planning their program. Students pursuing foreign language education should meet with a counselor or academic advisor.

Work and Employment

Foreign language graduates often seek careers as teachers and interpreters. Knowledge of a foreign language coupled with a major or minor in business opens doors to careers in international business.

Special Considerations

Career opportunities for foreign language graduates are enhanced by experiences living in foreign countries with native speakers.
