Speech Communication - Associate in Science (810)

Associate in Science (810)

To transfer as a junior into a baccalaureate speech communication program, students must complete 64 semester credit hours. Community college students are strongly encouraged to complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree before transfer. Further, students are encouraged to consult the school of their choice for any additional requirements for a B.A. or B.S. degree. Freshmen and sophomores who plan to transfer in speech communication are encouraged to fulfill general education requirements. Most major courses should be taken at the upper-division level.

Students who have already chosen the university to which they plan to transfer should consult that institution's catalog or department advisor and an SVCC counselor or academic advisor in planning their program. Students contemplating careers as high school speech teachers should meet with an counselor or academic advisor.
