Basic Computer-Aided Drafting Technician** - Certificate (H67)

(H67) Certificate

This program is intended to prepare CAD operators for immediate employment by providing the basic computer-aided drafting skills and comprehensive knowledge necessary to seek employment in design related jobs such as CAD technicians. In addition to extensive hands-on CAD training, a student will become familiar with various foundation courses in mathematics and sciences that will be required of a CAD drafter.

Work and Employment

Computer-aided design systems produce images on high resolution monitors instead of drawing boards. These designs can be rotated, seen from any angle, magnified as needed, and even viewed in three dimensions. Any needed changes can be made simply by entering new information into the computer in a fraction of the time required to redo a drawing on paper. In some cases, the design may never be placed on paper. It may be stored electronically, or in some factories may be used to guide automatic machinery.
