Head Coach Eann Cox

Eann Cox was first named the Skyhawks assistant coach in 2019 under former head coach Zach Vanwassenhove. This 2022-2023 season is his third year as Head Coach. Cox has 4 years of coaching experience at the NJCAA level, and has coached in collegiate leagues for 3 summers. He also was the assistant coach for the Aurora Thunder in the Metro Collegiate League. In these roles, Cox was the pitching coach and catching coach. He also worked with hitters as well, as he was a 2-way player in college. 

Cox played his collegiate ball for Black Hawk College as a 2-way player in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. Filling the role of first base/ DH and starting pitcher. Cox earned 1st team All-Arrowhead conference pitcher in 2011-2012. He also earned 1st team All-Arrowhead Conference first baseman and pitcher in 2012-2013.  In 2012 Cox was a crucial part to the Braves success on a 45-10 team where he was 3-1 on the mound with a 2.1 ERA covering 36 innings pitched allowing just 8 earned runs 19 hits and striking out 46.  This helped secure the Braves a top 5 national rank.  Cox’s sophomore year at BHC he hit .361 at the plate with 30 RBI’s 34 runs scored and 10 doubles.  On the mound, Cox tossed 9 starts covering 64 innings and 7 complete games.  Cox had a 1.83 ERA with 80 strikeouts to be a part of a pitching staff that finished in the top 3 for all pitching stats in the nation. While Cox was at Black Hawk College, the Braves won 2 arrowhead conference titles, 2 sectional titles, and appeared in the semifinals of 2 Region IV Tournaments.  Cox finished his playing career at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.  There Cox pitched the Flyers to a postseason bid for the second season in a row.  Cox started 13 games throwing 4 complete games leading the team in strikeouts and ERA.  In his final year Cox led the team in ERA at 2.8 starting 10 games and throwing 5 complete games. 

Native of Erie, IL, Cox Graduated from Erie High School in 2011.  Cox then went on to complete 4 years of school at Black Hawk College and Lewis University, studying Sports Management and business. In addition to coaching at Sauk Valley, Eann also works part time as a teaching assistant for special-ed students at Oswego East High School in Oswego, IL.  Eann is married to his beautiful wife Natalia and has a daughter named Amelia. 

 

 Assistant Coach Tyler Monkman

Monkman played two seasons for coach Brad Tuttle at Kaskaskia Community College. Named best defensive player both seasons, hit .284 with four doubles, four triples, four home runs and 24 RBIs as a sophomore. Was 17-for-18 in stolen bases as a freshman. Finished his college career at Murray State University where he played Division I.  Two-time all-conference selection at Clinton High School in his prep days. Went 10-0 with a 1.11 ERA in helping the Maroons to a 27-5 record. Hit .407 as a junior, four-year letter winner in football and wrestling.  Current owner and operator of River Bend Athletics in Clinton, Iowa. 

 

Assistant Coach Daniel Siebart

Seibert played his prep baseball at Aurora Central Catholic High School and travel baseball with the Aurora Thunder.  There he developed his pitching skills which gave him an opportunity to play in college.  Seibert went on to attend Sauk Valley Community College as a pitcher.  Seibert played under Coach Cox in 2020 and 2021.  Seibert tossed 40 innings striking out 51 and walking 22.  Seibert moved on to continue his career at Grandview University where he studied criminal justice.  He had a career ending arm injury and has come to Sauk Valley to help coach and develop the next group of talented players.  Seibert is still in the process of becoming a police officer and serving his local community in Dekalb.
