Head Coach Noel Aponte

Assistant Coach Noel AponteNoel Aponte was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  In high school, he played numerous sports, receiving many awards for his talents. Aponte continued his education at Triton College and joined the US Navy, serving 21 years after receiving an honorable discharge.  

As a coach, Aponte has coached various sports in the last 12 years, concentrating on enhancing young adults in personal growth as a person.  He emphasizes team unity, fundamentals, mental stability and discipline in the game for athletes.  Aponte resides in Sterling with his wife Olivia and their three children, Sophia, Priscilla, and Noel Jr. 

 

Chris Davis  

Assistant Head Coach Chris Davis

Chris Davis will enter his second year as assistant head coach of the Skyhawks's baseball team.  He plans to focus on the mental/physical approach to the game on and off the field for the Skyhawk's.  He will help with the Skyhawk's infielders and will assist the head coach with preparation for the teams off-season and season.  He has been an assitant and head coach ranging from youth sports all the way up to the high school level competition over the past 17 years, emphasizing fundamentals and team unity in each sport.  

Growing up in Sterling, Davis played baseball and golf at the high school level.  He is a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country for four years.  Davis is pursuing a degree in Sports Management through Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. 

Davis resides in Sterling with his wife Kim, and their 3 children, Emma (a Western University graduate), and former Skyhawk baseball players, Evan and Brady (both attending Chicago State University playing baseball and pursuing their degrees).
