Chris Davis Head Coach Chris Davis

Chris Davis will enter his second year as  head coach of the Skyhawk's baseball team after becoming the Head Coach this past spring. Coach Davis was the Assistant Head Coach and Pitching Coach the previous 3 years.  Coach Davis focuses on the mental and physical approach to the game, on and off the field.

Coach Davis has been an assistant and head coach ranging from youth sports to high school level competition over the past 20 years, emphasizing fundamentals and team unity in each sport.  

Growing up in Sterling, Davis played baseball and golf at the high school level for Sterling High School.  He is a U.S. Army Veteran, having served his country for four years and is currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management/Coaching. 

Coach Davis resides in Sterling with his wife Kimberly, and they have been married 25 years.  Chris and Kim have 3 children.  Emma (a Western Illinois graduate with a Psychology and Exercise Science Degree) is furthering her education at Pacific College Oriental Medicine.  Former Skyhawk baseball players, Evan and Brady (Chicago State University graduates in Business) are working for the Chicago Cubs.  All three children are living together happily in Chicago.

Peter Lohmann, Assistant Coach

Peter Lohmann has played, coached and instructed baseball for over 37 years and this is his third year as Assistant Coach for the Skyhawks.  He was born and raised in the Upper East Side of Detroit (St. Clair Shores) and played baseball for St. Clair Shores South Lake High School.  Coach Lohmann then found himself playing professional ball after being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1985 as a pitcher.  

After an injury shortened his career, Coach Lohmann became the coach for Berean Baptist High School in West Palm, Florida.  After three years, his family moved back to his wife's hometown (Moline, Illinois) where he became involved with the Moline Little League and Travelling Baseball.  Coach Lohmann currently coaches the Quad City Cannons, a team he co-founded, and also is the pitching coach for SVCC's Skyhawks.

he is married to Kimber and has two children, Kelsey and Brett.

Brady DavisBrady Davis, Assistant Coach

Brady Davis>, son of Head Coach Chris Davis, is entering his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach/Recruiter with the Sauk Valley Skyhawks.

As a former Sterling High School Grad and Sauk Valley Community College Alum, Davis played 4 years of high school baseball at Sterling and 2 years here at SVCC serving as a starting outfielder and pitcher before moving on to the Division 1 level as a pitcher with Chicago State. He played his first fall season before an arm injury ended his career.

Coach Davis graduated with honors from Chicago State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and minors in Business Management and Marketing. Upon graduation, Coach Davis will be pursing his Masters in Business Administration.

Davis, 23, resides in Chicago and commutes to SVCC to assist the Skyhawks. He is a current member of the Chicago Cubs Grounds Crew.
