2015-16 Baseball Team Outlook

The 2015-2016 Skyhawks Baseball team is very excited for the start of the upcoming season.  The Skyhawks return nine sophomores and have a talented incoming freshman group.  This group will be expected to contribute with the hard work they have put in this fall.

Skyhawks returning sophomore pitchers Fabian Del Real, Derek Kennell, Bryant Lilly, and Evan Smith will lead the way as starters.  Incoming freshmen pitchers Trevor Bolin, Landon Fuller, Hunter Lynn, and Jacob Resucher will help the team with spot starts, middle relief, and game closings.

Sophomore catchers Oliden Herrera and Joshua Oliveras, with their experience behind the plate, and incoming freshmen Brandon Dennis and Tyler Madsen, will call pitches to prevent batters from getting on and baserunners advancing.  Look for a few others to help pitch as needed.

The Skyhawks infield will be Lilly and Bolin at first base, Smith and incoming freshman Daniel Alegria at second base, Oliveras at shortstop, and freshman Albert Dominguez at third.  This group of infielders is so special because of their ability to play other infield poositions as needed.  Also, sophomore Kiefer Znaniecki (utility infielder/outfielder), Dennis, Kennell, and Madsen, will help in the infield.

In the Skyhawks outfield you will see "speed" flying around to get to the ball.  Sophomore Reyes Maldonado with freshmen Diontrell Earls and Jordan Henkel, Bolin, Fuller, and others will fill in when needed.

We believe we can compete with anybody and it's up to the coaching staff and team to do the funadmental things with batting, pitching, defense, speed, and baseball smarts.  Now is the time for Skyhawks Baseball to compete for and bring home the Arrowhead Conference Championship!
