2018-19 Men's Basketball Team Outlook

The Men’s Skyhawk Basketball team wants to take a step up from where they finished last year.

The Skyhawks will rely on returning starter Trevon Adams and will look to fill the void with talented newcomers. With his ability to shoot and draw two defenders, we will see Adams’ passing ability really show up this year. Also returning is Chris Ellis from the Regional Championship team of 2016. Ellis has knowledge of what it takes to win and brings leadership and experience to our young core. Local newcomers include Austin Meiners, Sean Gingrich, and Micah Kendrick. Sean Gingrich (Sterling) is a key shooter to put in place around Adams. Austin Meiners (Rock Falls) will play a key role as a scorer off the bench. Micah Kendrick (Sterling) will take on the role of backup point guard and a key contributor to the team’s success. Other newcomers include Cedric Armstrong, a solid wing player with a great ability to finish at the rim. The freshman this year are Fred Brown (Beloit)—a skilled guard, Jyaire Robinson (Rockford)—a long athletic shooter, Nolan Govig—a fundamental forward with the ability to score inside and out, Markel Hudson (Florida)—a stretch forward who can shoot and score at the rim, Ron Thompson (Chicago) and George Lee (Chicago)—two key forwards.
