The Skyhawks were ready for the upset and it showed early as the Skyhawks matched Highland basket for basket for the first ten minutes. Then small forward DJ Williams was ejected from the game for what the officials felt was unsportsmanlike conduct and the Skyhawks lost their focus and went into halftime trailing by seventeen52-35. Even with the disappointing final score the Skyhawks did have several strong individual efforts.
