Sauk Makes it Possible — You Make it Happen

Next, for the last game of the suspensions, the Skyhawk "6" traveled to Illinois Valley to try and avenge a conference opening loss (75-77) at home on Jan. 6.  This time the Skyhawks found the chemistry (and intensity) to compete with the Eagles. With an outstanding effort the Skyhawks led by 2 at the half 39-37.  The second half was more of the same as the Skyhawks would not give in and when the Eagles last shot didn't go in, the Skyhawks had their two point victory 70-68.  The Skyhawks had strong performances by all six players; A.J. Sharp 17 pts (including 5 straight 3s) and 6 rebs., Jansen Hight 16 pts. and 8 rebs., A.J. Dollmeyer 15 pts. and 10 rebs., Tramel Rideout 15 pts., 8 rebs., and 7 assist, and Carter Ames and Austin Thomas combined for 7 pts., 4 assist, and only 1 turnover.  Next week for the Skyhawks (15-8, 3-4) are three straight home games; conference leading Black Hawk on Tuesday, Div 2 National No. 1 ranked Kishwaukee on Thursday, and Region IV rival Kennedy King on Saturday, who the Skyhawks beat in OT on Jan. 17.  Go Skyhawks!
