Former Skyhawk basketball standout and Rock Falls native Jedidiah Johnson returns for his fourth year as the Skyhawks Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Before becoming the head coach for the women’s team, Johnson worked with Russ Damhoff as the assistant coach for the men’s team.

Johnson played for Sauk during the 2000-02 seasons. He then transferred to Missouri Baptist University (MBU) in St. Louis where he played basketball for two years. There he was an important part of the MBU Spartan team that qualified for the 2004 NAIA National Tournament. After finishing his playing career, Johnson stayed on at MBU to accept an assistant coaching position under former coach, Tony Tompkins.

Johnson, who is also the SVCC Fitness Center and Weight Room Coordinator, is a Rock Falls High School graduate and was a co-captain on the 1999 Rock Falls state championship basketball team. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from MBU in 2007 and has also completed his course work for his master’s in sport management this past summer. Coach Johnson resides in Rock Falls with his wife, Cari, and son, Jalen.

Assistant Coach Michele Salvatori

 Assistant CoachMichele Salvatori, Western Illinois alumni, enters her 1st season as the assistant coach for the Women Skyhawk’s’. Michele graduated from Newman Catholic in 2009 and went on to play basketball at Western Illinois University

While at Newman, Salvatori went 53-6 in her junior and senior year seasons. She led her team to 2 elite eight appearances. She was 1st team All-State and 1st team IBCA her senior year. She was also chosen as the female athlete of the year for the Sauk Valley area.

At Western, Michele set Western’s career record playing in 121 consecutive games. She also finished 9th among Western’s all time leaders with 85 career 3-pointers.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and minored in nutrition from WIU in 2013. Michele now resides in Rock Falls
