The Skyhawks traveled to the Lincoln Classic on Friday and their first game was a rematch of their season opener against Lincoln College. The Skyhawks only led by 6 at the half 21-15 after only shooting 8/34 from the field. The second half the Sauk Valley shot 17 of 26 to break the game open and get the opening night win over the host Lynx 64-35.
The Skyhawks had four players in double figures led by Morgan Dean with 13pts., followed by Kayleen Terrock and Bailey Schrader with 11pts., and Tressa Schuler with 10.
Game two saw the Skyhawks take on Lincoln Land. Sauk Valley was down 8 at the end of first quarter 16-8 on their way to a first half that saw then score only 12pts. and a 39-12 deficit to the Loggers. The second half saw the Skyhawks play much better scoring 27 pts. to match Lincoln Land in the second half, but falling 39-66 to split the tournament games. The Skyhawks (3-6) are now off until the end of December when they travel to the highly regarded Illinois Central Tournament starting on December 28.
