2018-19 Softball Team Outlook

The 2018-19 Skyhawk Women’s Softball team is looking to continue its success from the previous seasons. They ended last season with a 27-18 record overall and an Arrowhead Conference record of 13-9. The Skyhawks made the 2018 postseason and went all the way to the NJCAA Division II Regional Championship before losing to Madison College. The Skyhawks look to improve on their postseason run in 2019.

The team will be led by two returners, Lillie Ledbetter and Jacelyn Rodruguez. In addition to these returning sophomores are two sophomore transfers, Haley Varga from Iowa Wesleyan University and Whitney Wynkoop from Carl Sandburg College. Haley will be a great addition to the team for power and Whitney for her good glove.

To complete the team we have twelve incoming freshman. Taylor Hoefler from Rock Falls will be a great talent from the area added to the team. Her speed and aggressiveness will be a great addition to the outfield. Sarah Bisland from Rockridge will be another great asset for the Skyhawks. She will add power and strength to both sides of the ball this season. Sydney Gunder from Polo will be a great addition to the pitching staff. Sydney has the ability to spin the ball and place it where it needs to go. These freshmen, along with all of the other athletic incoming freshmen, will make the 2018-19 season special.
