SVCC Skyhawks jumped out to an early lead on College Of Lake County and captured a 14-5 victory on Saturday.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed SVCC Skyhawks to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Riley Lanham in the first inning and an RBI single by Bailey Lundquist and a two-run double by Lindsey Costliow during the second inning supplied the early offense for SVCC Skyhawks .

Alexandrea Sterenberg had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She singled in the second inning, homered in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

The bottom of the first saw SVCC Skyhawks take an early lead, 1-0.

SVCC Skyhawks piled on three more runs in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly scored Lanham to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Sterenberg's two-run home run, plating Juile Dodd.

A three-run fourth inning helped bring College Of Lake County within three. An RBI single by #00 and a two-run triple by #1 gave College Of Lake County life. SVCC Skyhawks stopped the rally after Taylor Wagler got #19 to fly out.

SVCC Skyhawks answered College Of Lake County's top inning with six runs of its own in the fifth. SVCC Skyhawks scored on an RBI single by Lundquist, an RBI single by Lundquist, a hit by pitch, a two-run double by Lanham, and a two-run double by Dodd.

SVCC Skyhawks beat College Of Lake County 10-2 in five innings on Saturday after an eight-run explosion in the fourth inning.

SVCC Skyhawks scored in the fourth on a two-run double by Bailey Lundquist, an RBI single by Lindsey Costliow, an RBI single by Riley Lanham, an RBI single by Juile Dodd, a two-run triple by Erin Newbury, and a wild pitch.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Newbury racked up two RBIs on two hits for SVCC Skyhawks .
