2017 Women's Tennis Team Outlook

The Skyhawk Women’s Tennis team only has two returning players this year. They are Nadia Trujillo from Sterling who played number one singles and doubles for the Skyhawks last season.  Also, Emily Berogan from Sterling who played number six singles and number three doubles last season. They both did an excellent job and have gained the necessary skills and experience to be competitive this year. They both played on the Skyhawk Softball team last season and will again this year.

New players include Sara Ackerson from Dixon who mostly played singles her senior year. Larissa Gallardo from Dixon who mostly played doubles her senior year. Kylie Burkett from Sterling who mostly played doubles. These ladies have the skills and knowledge to be competitive at the collegiate level. Also, Grace Ely from Newman who played other sports in high school and tennis recreationally in the summer will round out the team for the Skyhawk’s this season. The ladies will be fine tuning  both their singles and doubles play because they will each be playing both in every meet which is something they are not used too.

Our goal is to place in the top three teams at Regionals to earn a trip to Nationals. Region IV Division I has very tough competition. With hard work and dedication I believe these ladies have the drive, skills, and talent to achieve this goal.
