2014 Women's Tennis Team Outlook

Women's Tennis Team Photo 2014

With talented new and returning members, this year will prove to be an exciting year for the Women’s Skyhawk Tennis
Our returning veterans, Gabi Trujillo (Sterling) and Ashlyn Berogan (Sterling) placed first at the Regional tournament in number three doubles. Molly Hendricks (Sterling), who played mostly singles, will also be returning along with Jessica Whetsel (Dixon) who also played singles for the Skyhawks. These players gained valuable experience last year and will be stepping into leadership roles for the Skyhawks.
The new faces this year are familiar to tennis. Mary Alice Oswalt (Dixon) played number one singles for Newman; Christina Long (Dixon) played number one doubles for Newman; Lupita Serrano (Sterling) played number two and three doubles for Newman; Jessica VanOosten (Dixon) played number one doubles for Dixon and qualified for the IHSA state tournament; Tessa Trujillo (Sterling) played number three doubles for Sterling; and Patricia Ready (Dixon) played number two doubles at Watertown High School into the mix. All these women have the skills and dedication it takes to be competitive at the collegiate level. Our goal for the team is to place in the top three at Regionals and qualify for the National Tournament. Sauk will be hosting the NJCAA Region IV Tournament this year on October 10th and 11th, 2014.
