2013 Women's Tennis Team Outlook

2013 Women's Tennis Team

The Women’s Tennis team will have ten players on the roster this year.  The Skyhawks lost Jessica Albers, Dallas Adams, Alyssa Gallentine, Emily Mills ,Lou-Anne Benon, Taylor Preston and Natalie Oldsfrom last year.

The Skyhawk Tennis team will have four returning players this year with all of them being from the top six spots. The returning players are Kayla Wilson, Molly Ginn, and Amanda Kent from Dixon and Paige Goshert from Sterling. All of them played both doubles and singles for the Skyhawks last year. They all did an outstanding job last year and have gained the experience and skills to help them be competitive this year.

The new faces this year are Molly Hendrichs, Ashlyn Berogan, Gabriela Trujillo, and Brooke Thimesch who all played for Sterling High School. Taylor Beckman, and Jessica Whetsel who played for Dixon High School.

The competition in Region 4 Division 1 is very tough. However, we have a lot of talented women on the team with great tennis skills necessary to be successful. With hard work and dedication this team has a chance to place in the top three teams at Regionals. They all have the drive and passion for the game which will help them to achieve their goals.

I am proud to say that the Women’s tennis team had six players who made the 2012-2013 Athletic Academic Excellence Award and were very close to getting the team award. They were returning players Kayla Wilson, Amanda Kent, and Molly Ginn. Sophmores were Natalie Olds, Emily Mills, and Lou-Anne Benon.
