Purpose:

Two-year community college offering associate degrees in various career areas and short-term certification. Transfer programs are also offered. Sauk Valley Community College is dedicated to quality learning to meet needs of its students and community. Sauk strives to create an environment of possibilities to open many opportunities for the community.

Remarks:

Regular office hours during the academic year are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Office hours in the summer semester are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Sauk Valley offers daytime and evening classes. Sauk Valley also offers vocational interest and placement testing. Sauk Valley has a GED program. SVCC provides assistance in transfer, vocational-technical, adult and continuing education, community service, and career education areas. Financial assistance is available to help with loans, FAFSA, and find scholarships. SVCC has a Student Support Services program that assists with transferring, counseling, and activities. Tutors are available through SSS and in the Learning Assistance Center. The Sauk Learning Resource Center offers many books and media services. Employment-related services to both employers and job seekers are also available at Sauk. Education at SVCC is available to the general population regardless of age, income level, or education level.
