Purpose:
The Village of Progress provides training to persons with disabilities so that they may live a fulfilling life as contributing members of their home and community.
Remarks:
"In house" services are offered 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM from Monday through Friday. Some community work programs include evening and weekend hours, too. Services offered at the Village include evaluation and assessment, supported employment, job training, living skills, developmental training program, health care, physical and occupational therapy, maintenance, instruction, as well as social and recreational experiences. The eligibility requirements are age of 16 or older, resident of Ogle County, and proof that VOP services will benefit the individual. Members are charged for food, transportation, and recreation services; however, no individual will be denied services for the inability to pay. In addition we have a commercial janitorial program and a retail bakery and cafe (The Village Bakery) that employs individuals with developmental disabilities in more integrated settings.
