Spotlight on Success: Revive Boutique
Revive Boutique, a new clothing store in downtown Dixon, carries a chic array of women's apparel, shoes, and accessories with a wide range of styles that appeal to a variety of ages and demographics. Revive is owned and operated by Jamie Shierry, an entrepreneur and fashion guru at heart, with more than 9 years of retail experience.
This past summer Jamie worked with SBDC specialist Emily Zimmerman to fine tune her financial and business plans in preparation for meeting with a local community bank in search of funding.
"Emily was extremely helpful with preparing my business plan so I could get what I needed to open my store."
Revive Boutique held its grand opening October 27. "I am thankful for all the hours the SBDC spent helping me make my dream come true. I was blown away by the turnout at the grand opening," Jamie said, "it exceeded my expectations. I was literally running out of items, and am working hard at restocking my inventory."
Jamie knows what women struggle to find at traditional department stores. She carries a variety of shoes, jeans, scarfs, cardigans, and tops, but isn't going to stop there. "I was out last weekend looking for a wallet, a simple plain black wallet, and found nothing. I was thinking, this shouldn't be so complicated. Everything was too big, or too small, or had a bunch of design work on it. So I decided, I'm getting wallets and purses for my store."
The outpouring of support she's getting from other local businesses has been tremendous. Jamie and the team at Rustic Roots, another local shop in Dixon, are working hand in hand to help Revive Boutique feel like home. A lot of Jamie's decor came from that store.
"I have always dreamed of owning a boutique where women could feel comfortable browsing the latest selection of fun and unique items, as if they were popping into their friend's living room."
