Elisa has taught Physics 175, Introduction to Physics, at Sauk Valley Community College since 2004 and has taught Physics at Sterling High School (SHS) since 1987. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.
One of the highlights of her career was taking part in a Physics Education delegation to Vietnam where she toured research facilities and laboratories. She has been trained in providing diversity workshops and has worked as a consultant for Programs for Educational Opportunity at the University of Michigan. She worked on the PRISMS Project (Physics Resources for Instructional Strategies to Motivate Students) while an undergraduate. She has also been the head of the teen parenting program at SHS, working with pregnant and parenting students and encouraging them to graduate.
Elisa enjoys collecting Albert Einstein memorabilia, watching bike races, sewing, and spending time with her family.
