Open Enrollment, Self-Paced Courses in Canvas
Both full-time and part-time faculty are able to self-enroll in these courses at any time.
An online self-paced course for all staff interested in learning to use Canvas. Participants will learn about basic course setup and the major tools of Canvas including: files, pages, the gradebook, quizzes, discussions, and assignments.
An online self-paced course for all staff interested in teaching online. Participants will get an introduction to successful online teaching strategies and online course design. Other topics include retention of online students and academic integrity.
This online and self-paced course is devoted to an examination of the guiding principles of Universal Design, a brief look at the issues and laws impacting Universal Design in higher education, and conversion of course syllabi, course files, and multimedia. The course will conclude with individual conferences with each participant to examine work remaining in a course in order to comply with all guidelines, and to discuss areas of difficulty and needed support.
Open Educational Resources 101
In this course, faculty will explore the value in using Open Educational Resources (OER) and issues related to implementing them in their courses.
