Be ready to laugh out loud at our spring production of Philip
King’s British comedy
See How They Run
playing April 26-28
and May 3-5, at 7:00pm and 2:00pm Sunday matinées in the
Mathis Theatre.
The show’s title is taken from a line from the nursery rhyme,
Three Blind Mice
which exemplifies the mayhem in this 3-act farce.
See How They Run
is known
for its tense comic situations and headlong humor, heavily playing on mistaken
identities, doors, and vicars. Pandemonium ensues as the fallacious stories of four
men impersonating vicars, an ex-actress, a star-stuck maid, a tea-totaling spinster
and a sedated Bishop unfold and their secrets are revealed.
Please join us for a special event,
A Chocolate Interlude
at intermission on Friday,
April 26 featuring tempting chocolates, crisp champagne and sparkling cider.
Seats are limited and reservations are required by calling 815.288.5511, ext. 0.
Tickets are $10 for the show and the event.
Tickets for the regular show times are $8 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for
students which can be purchased at the door or by calling the college.
Anna K. Kurtz, SVCC theatre director, will also direct, for the second year, a
Shakespeare in the Park production (collaboration event between SVCC and
Woodlawn Arts Academy) on the Academy’s back lawn. This summer audiences
will experience the tragic tale of two star-crossed lovers in
Romeo & Juliet
Twenty-five actors will take the stage on June 21-23 and June 28-30 at 6pm to
perform this FREE show. Audience members supply their own chairs and may
bring refreshments (alcohol allowed). Gourmet food baskets will be available for
purchase at Saturday evening performances. Limited quantity, please reserve
your selection at 815.626.4278.
