April 2009

For those who are responsible for employees that work on or near electrical energized equipment and risk possible electrical shock, Sauk Valley Community College will offer Electrical Safety Work Practices from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in Room 2K2.

Topics will cover Subpart S of OSHA’s Electrical Standard and the new NFPA 70E Arc Flash Requirements. This NFPA publication will include Limits of Approach, Hazard/Risk Evaluation Procedures, Selecting Flame-Resistant (FR) Clothing and Electrical Work Permits.

This class will also help participants develop a complete understanding of OSHA’s Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout 29 CFR 1910. 147), and how to develop their own specific lockout procedures and other documentation.

Cost for the class is $50. Students may register in person or by fax.
