Sauk Valley Community College’s Skyhawk Booster Club is hosting a membership drive and offering new and renewal memberships at 2008-09 rates through August 1. Rates include $5 for Student, $25 for Single, $40 for Family, and $75 for Business.

The Family membership includes three passes with additional passes available for $12 each. The business membership includes five passes with additional passes available also at $12 each.

After August 1, booster club memberships will be $30 for individual, $50 for family ($15 each additional) and $90 for business. Admission for home events will be $4 per adult.

The Skyhawk Booster Club is the best way for fans to support SVCC athletics and be eligible for free admission to all regular-season athletic events. In addition to supporting Sauk, it is a great value. Russ Damhoff, athletic director, said for one person to attend all 28 men’s or women’s home basketball games would cost $112 (with three passes) that is a savings of $336.

Sauk’s upcoming fall and winter-spring sport seasons will feature the Skyhawk volleyball team under new head coach Dawn Naylon, who was formerly assistant coach. The Skyhawk women’s basketball team looks to return to its Region IV Championship form of 2008 as Coach Jolene Leseman begins her 25th season as head coach. The men’s basketball team, which enjoyed a 21-win season and a 10-2 Arrowhead Conference finish, has signed nine new players for this season. The new recruits are led by area freshman standouts Niko Rivera and Dustin Fritsch from Sterling High School, and transfer 7’0” Zak House from Rock Falls High School and Evansville, University. In addition, Three Skyhawk teams; cross-country, golf, and women’s tennis all sent players to national competition and four Sauk athletes have been submitted for Academic All American Honors.

Sauk’s Booster Club also offers donor opportunities with advertising signs in the SVCC Gymnasium. For more information on these opportunities or on the Skyhawk Booster Club, call Sauk’s athletic Department at 815-835-6234 or 835-6401.
