SVCC to Offer Food Service Sanitation Refresher Course

Sauk Valley Community College will offer its Food Service Sanitation Refresher Course from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, and Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Room 2L5.

This course meets the needs of certified food service sanitation managers seeking renewal of their FSSMC certificates. Emphasis is on current Illinois time and temperature requirements for cooking, cooling and refrigeration, hand contact with read-to-eat foods, consumer advisories, cross-contamination, cleaning and sanitizing, HACCP, and problems association with food-borne outbreaks.

Cost for the class is $55. To register, stop by Sauk’s Office of Admissions and Records, Room 1J1, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, or between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays.

For those unable to attend the September 22 and 24th refresher, this class will be offered again from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, in Room 2L5.
