SVCC to Offer Wilton Method of Cake Decorating

Sauk Valley Community College will offer the two-evening Wilton Method of Basic Cake Decorating, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, October 1 and 8, in Room 2M3.

With the correct technique and equipment, your cakes can become works of art. This class will teach the Wilton Method including necessary supplies and utensils, making frosting, how to make a rose, writing techniques, basic borders, and figure piping.

Students will need to bring a frosted cake, hand mixer, bowls for frosting, one pound of powdered sugar, one cup of shortening, and vanilla for other flavoring. A supply kit is available from instructor for $35.

Cost for the class is $60. To register, stop by Sauk’s Office of Admissions and Records, Room 1J1, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, or between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays.
