Psychology Major Awarded Rock Falls Women’s Club Scholarship

May 2010

Sauk Valley Community College student Ashley Wilkey of Rock Falls has been awarded the Rock Falls Women’s Club Scholarship for the 2010 academic year. This scholarship, for an anonymous amount, was distributed through the Sauk Foundation.

Wilkey, a psychology major, is a member of Sauk’s Student Support Services program. She plans to graduate from Sauk in May with an Associate in Science and transfer to Northern Illinois University to major in FNSC. She would like to pursue a career in marriage and family counseling.

A 2008 graduate of Rock Falls Township High School, Ashley is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Wilkey of Rock Falls.
The Rock Falls Women’s Club is one of more than 80 private donors that provide scholarships to deserving Sauk students each year. These scholarships play a crucial role in helping these students pursue their educational goals.

The Sauk Foundation is a non-profit corporation that helps to broaden the educational opportunities and services that SVCC provides for its students. Each year the Foundation distributes scholarships that total more than $160,000.
