Sauk Valley Community College will offer the class Ancient Yoga Stretching from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays starting October 4 through November 8, at Traditional Wellness Center221 W. First St., in Dixon.
Improve your health by learning the ancient technique of stretching following the pressure points along the median line (energy line). Yoga is one of the most basic principles of mind/ body unity: If the mind is chronically restless and agitated, then, the health of the body will be compromised. Similarly, if the body is in poor health, mental strength and clarity will be adversely affected.
Stretching improves energy levels, provides nourishment for muscles and connective tissues, and maintains a healthy weight. By keeping muscles toned and fit, they can adequately support joints and reduce pain and stiffness. Gentle stretches are an excellent way to gain flexibility and begin self-healing of joints and muscles.
Cost for this class is $50. To register, stop by Sauk's Office of Admissions, Room 1J1, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, or between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
